Hi Everyone!
So, I'm looking for some input..
I'm very curious, does anyone know first hand the Nursing Program offered by San Diego State University?
Like how great of a program it is, is it worth trying to apply. The reason I say all this is, because the program is very impacted and difficult to get into..but I'm not sure if that is because it's a great program, or if that has more to do with the recent budget cuts. Or both.
Any input or advice would be amazing!
Also, if anyone has any suggestions of awesome schools with awesome Nursing Programs, please let me know!
Another thing, does anyone know of hospitals offering Nursing Programs. Like how great they are etc.
I need all the info I can gleen! Any school I apply to I'll be transferring, but I want to get into the best program possible!
Thank you all in advance!

I'll be graduating from South Dakota State University's nursing program (BSN) this May and I thought it was a good experience especially for the money

Hi! I'm a second semester student at San Diego State. You're right, it's very impacted and it is hard to get into but it's still definitely worth applying for, especially if you have good grades. They have a point system and it's based on your cumulative GPA, prereq GPA, TEAS score, and volunteer and/or work experience. Here is the document which states how it works:
http://nursing.sdsu.edu/miscfiles/bs-admission-criteria-July09b.pdf
Every semester, the people with the most points get in, and the cutoff is different each semester because it depends on how many they're admitting and how many people apply.
And to address your question as to why it's hard to get in, whether it's budget cuts or it being a great program: it's both! :)
Let me know if you have any other specific questions. Good luck!!
