Anyone know if there is a college offering part time classes for LPN-RN?

Published

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any colleges in washington that offer part time or evening/weekend classes for people like me who have a family and need to keep working. I am an LPN and would love to get my RN. I don't want to do online courses if I can help it. I wouldn't mind, but don't like the way they have the clinical part of it set up.

Thanks in advance for any info. !

Hi There,

I don't think there is any school that you can go part time. I am a LPN and I did all my RN pre req's at GRCC. I wanted to go to a "regular" nursing school....but each one had different pre req's. Highline, TCC and BCC.

I am doing the Excelsor college RN program. It is not on line. It is a self study. You need to take A&P 200, pys 100, 210, micro..ect. just like traditional nursing school. You take 7 nursing tests and then the clinical at the end. I really like it. I work full time and have 3 children too. This is great for me. I already took 2 test and passed them both. It is nice because you don't have to go to a classroom. I heard all the "horror" stories about the clinical at the end. I know a lot of people that went this route and passed with flying colors. They are great RN's today.

I think that TCC has a LPN-RN articulation part-time program. Check out their website!

Abby,

Thank you for the info. I will check it out!

North Seattle Comm. College just started a LPN to RN program. The first class will be starting April 5. This program is for the working LPN and it only 3 quarters long. I believe all the class are at night. But go and check it out there there web page is northseattle.edu.

Opie,

Thank you very much for the information. I went to NSCC for my LPN long ago. I am planning on checking into this. Thanks again! This is good news!
