Anyone know anything about Marymount U BSN program?

Published

Hey all, I'm new here, wondering if anyone knows anything about the Marymount (Arlington, VA) BSN program? We don't live anywhere near there, but my husband thought he was going to be transferred to the DC area, so I started applying to nursing schools in the area. I didn't get into Georgetown, UMD, or George Mason U, (I was still lacking pre-reqs at the time I applied) but recently applied to- and received my acceptance packet from Marymount! Needless to say, I was excited to be accepted somewhere, but I don't actually know much about the program, besides what is on their website, and that can be exaggerated. Anyway, in the meantime (since I applied) my husband's job circumstance has changed, and it looks like we probably won't have to move out there after all, which is good because I don't actually want to live there, because I have a 3 year old who is very close with her extended family here. But I am wondering, if I was accepted at Marymount, will I be competitive for other BSN programs? There are some very prestigious programs in my area that I am applying to. My GPA is about 3.6, but a little lower in Sciences, and I do have years of experience as a medical asst. Do I have a chance? (Sorry for lack of paragraphs, for some reason my enter key is not working here!)

Congratulations on your acceptance to Marymount University! Applying to schools and on top of that moving to a different state can be stressful, so I am happy to hear and understand your relief of having to move. If I read your question correctly, you are looking for some verification of quality of our program. We are proud to say at Marymount University our NCLEX pass rate is 97% for our second degree program (one of the highest in the state) and 94% for our BSN. Again, we are very proud of our students. They attribute their success to our small classroom size and hands on practices. I hope this information helps. Good luck with your plans on becoming a nurse!
