Hi, I'm just getting ready to get into RN clinicals, but hope to eventually go for a CNM. I always figured after I got my RN, I'd enroll in a local RN-BSN bridge program (such as U Pitt). However, I recently found out that Frontier is now offering an ADN to MSN bridge program. Does anyone know anything about this program? Do you have to have one year nursing experience prior to enrolling in the bridge? Thanks :)

This is actually a brand new program scheduled for first class to start this aug/sept.
Do you know if there is requirement for students to have experience in nursing?

The program is for RN only, you need a license.
I am aware of that Alex. I am enrolled/soon to start in a RN based hospital program. The point of my question is more can I enroll in the bridge program right after getting my R.N. or do I need to build up some work experience first? I know you need experience for their MSN programs, but wasn't sure for the bridge.

Hello!!! I have the same question! It would be wonderful if I could start the bridge program soon after passing the NCLEX, and get my year of experience during that time. Their bridge program would be so much less work/time/money for me than a traditional bridge BSN. Maybe we'll be classmates someday. I'm also about to begin my clinicals.
I emailed the director. I'll post the answer when I get it...
Hi Ladybugsea, glad to see someone else is also interested in this program. Would you be bridging over to a WHNP, NP, or CNM?
CNM all the way!!! That's the reason I'm getting my RN in the first place. :)
Me too! Even if I don't enroll in Frontier's bridge, I've been very impressed with their CNM program (especially since I'll be living somewhere where there is no local CNM program).

NoelChristie, About 13yrs ago I tried to get into the Frontier school, at that time all I had was an ADN. Wish they would have had the bridge then. Am sure if you call the school they will let you know. I am thinking about entering the CNM program this August, have all of my papers in, a person called and interviewed me on Tues. this week. Have been a RN for 20yrs. now. Best of luck, and hope you get to start right after graduation. Deb
