Anyone heard of such a thing?

My sister-in-law (who is prone to exaggeration) has told the family that she is going to nursing school...which is fine, if that is what she wants to do in life. When I asked what course she was going (LPN, RN?) she told me she was taking a bridge course to an ADN. She's not an LPN, but an MA. I didn't know that an MA could bridge, especially since my best friend (who was an MA) had to do the two year program with everyone else.

Anyone else ever hear of MA to RN Bridge???

I have never heard of such a program. I too have encountered some people who tell me about "degrees" that they have earned and "degrees" that they will earn. I work as an aid. Another aid (who is in her 40's) told me that she has a masters degree in nurse's aid. Ever heard of that one?! :uhoh3:

I've never heard of any such program. I wonder what kind of "bridge" program there would be.

Anyone can call themselves a MA, there are not any education or licensing requirements. I have worked for several docs, who have "trained" their wife

and designated them as MA's.

Never heard of an MA to RN bridge. It doesn't sound like you SIL has really researched her game plan. She isn't by chance under the belief that an MA and LPN (nurse) are the same thing.

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

Never heard of it either, especially since there are many MA's with Associates Degrees starting all over for their RN. Most MA's around here do have an AD and get certified though.

The poster about the Master's in Nurses Aid is hilarious. I would have fallen on the ground lauging :stone

No such thing as far as I know. But I do not know every program in the usa.

There IS a site that does:

http://www.allnursingschools.com

check it out to see if such a program exists near where she lives--and ask her which one she plans to attend. MAYBE such a program DOES exist....!
