I was contacted by a recruiter from this agency but have never heard of them. I am not a travel nurse yet but want to when I grad from my program LPN-BSN at U of Phx. The recruiter told me that if I sign with them after grad and stay in AZ I can work with them for a year then start travel assignments after the 1yr experience. Is this a good idea? I really want to travel ASAP from grad but not sure if its a wise thing to do? They do have travel LPN assignments occasionally but I don't want to do anything until grad with my RN. I posted the link to their website just for a reference . Let me know what you think! Thanks :redpinkhe

Oh yah! Heard of them. Very big agency here in California.
I would not advice traveling immedietly untill you get that one year experience. I think you have a good deal. its hard to find jobs theses days.
thx 4 the advice... so is this a good agency and are they easy to deal with or should I stay away and look at other agencies?
I think they are fairly easy to deal with....

First of all Health Providers Choice is not a big agency in California, they do very little work in California. Second, Health Providers Choice will not generally employ any RN or Allied Professional that does not have at least 2 years of core experience. Core experience is experience that you obtain while employed by a Healthcare Institution (preferably an acute care setting). Health Providers Choice is an exceptional choice of agencies for an experienced nurse. Inexperienced RN will have difficulty in any travel situation if they do not have the confidence to pick up the ball and run. Two years minimum is what is expected to be successful in most travel positions. As the Chief Executive Nurse from Health Providers Choice, I recommend those standards for success. If you have questions I will be happy to help you with your career goals.
