Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you have graduated from the ADN program from Kaplan (bright wood)? Have any of you gone on to go to get your BSN, if so where? Was it hard to get employment after graduating from this school or was it fairly easy or pretty normal? Thank you!

OP:
With the sort of open ended question like this one, mainly dealing with your marketability post graduation from this school, it may be more helpful to those who are inclinded to offer sound opinions or advice for you to expound a little bit more on what your misgivings or concerns may be.
For instance, what have you heard about "gainful employment" as it relates to Brightwood (Kaplan).
Gainful employment is a tremendous issue right now as many for-profits have promoted their schools by playing upon this so-called ticket to the American Dream.
To be fair, this "go to college as a ticket to easy street" canard has always been oversold by everyone, not just the for-profits.
It's primarily done today by institutions and persons who want to sell you something you might not actually need. Like a lifetime of crushing debt.

I graduated from Brightwood. Passed nclex first try. Got hired a month later a hospital in SoCal. Also started my BSN program at a respected fully accredited university in SoCal.
a few of my classmates already have hospital jobs as well and the number is growing.
it's what you make of it.

What university were you able to attend? I am worried about the credibility and the school not being nationally accredited. I have heard there will be problems finding a school where I can further my degree to BSN or MSN. People saying that there aren't universities that will accept that ADN degree. Any information is helpful. Thank you.
