Anyone going to the next step with Sharp NEW Grad Program 2009??

I sent my extensive application to Sharp on March 5 2009. I put down that I was interested in L&D and Med Surg.

I got a email on March 11 from the recruiter (or manager) saying they got a lot of applicants that were excellent and I didn't get chosen to go to the next step for L&D. I was bummed and emailed back with some questions I hope they will respond back with asking how I could basically do better next time. I still am waiting to hear from the med surg recruiters.

I just want to see if anyone else is waiting to hear from Sharp???

Hi, I have applied to Sharp (Chula Vista) for Med-Surg as well, but I haven't heard from them. Did you e-mail them your portfolio or did you fax it? I was trying to e-mail them my portfolio (last week) but their e-mail address doesn't seem to work, so I just faxed mine. I am still waiting to hear from them. I just hope they got my portfolio.

I ended up calling them to make sure they received all my info and thank goodness I did call, becuz they didn't receive half of the stuff I faxed. So I faxed them again and they received it all. That was Monday.

Ha, I'm sure they recieved your packet and then lost half themselves. Anyone else begining to hate HR?

I applied to the Sharp New Grad RN Program in L&D the first day it was posted. I called to check on the review process earlier this week and the woman in HR said it may take a while to hear back since they received over 500 applicants. WOW. I wasn't too shocked to see a polite rejection letter 2 days ago. I am pretty bummed because these new grad programs are sooo dang competitive and hard to get into. Not to mention I am a "New Grad" still searching for a job and I graduated in May, 2008! Shoot me now.

they must have had a lot of applicants for those L&D positions & not many L&D positions to begin with. two girls i know at school got a rejection email quickly after applying to L&D.

i got a call today for a phone interview with a recruiter for PCU @ memorial. if i do well there, THEN there'll be an interview with the unit's hiring manager. excited! :)

Which memorial hospital? I am pretty sure I applied to the New Grad program there as well. Hmm....it's so hard to keep track!!

i also got a call from sharp today and have a phone interview on monday. i am freakin out. can anyone please give me some interviewing techniques/ sample questions!!!!!!!

i do go to school in san diego, but i didn't have a preceptorship with sharp.

I met someone from san diego when I was interviewing at ucla. They said san diego is very competitive right now. Good luck pureass
