Is anyone going to the annual American Psychiatric Nurses Association conference in San Antonio, Texas in October? It is Oct. 7-12. I have never been to a big nursing association conference, and I am in need of a vacation! I will, of course still be taking online MSN courses at that time, but plan to take my laptop so I can post my assignments for that week from my hotel room. If anyone is going, maybe we could meet up at the conference.

I really want to, especially since I used to live in South Texas and love the area. But I also have a 6 month old...so not this year Maybe next year.
It goes without saying: you must visit the Alamo. And the Riverwalk is pretty awesome too.

My sister-in-law and her husband, to whom I am very VERY close, just moved to San Antonio in the spring and I would love nothing more than to get to go to the conference and spend a few days with them! However, I also have a couple young children and a not-so-supportive spouse who would make a gigantic stink about me going, I'm sure.

I want to go so bad but with all of my clinical hours I have to do this fall I couldn't figure out a way to get everything done I needed to do that week and still be at the conference.
I am all booked and getting ready! I start the MSN program in nursing education on 8/29. The first class runs through 10/5 and the next one starts 10/7 while I'm in San Antonio. I still plan to take my laptop and will be posting my first week's assignments from my hotel room! I can't wait!

The APNA conference is always great. You will be exposed to so many fantastic things happening in psych nursing and make great contacts. If you are a student think about submitting an application for a scholarship next year. I know you will really enjoy the conference but you will be busy.
I am a student. I just started my MSN in Nursing Education. Eventually I want to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am looking forward to the conference. Thanks for the info!
