OK. If you've seen me post here before you probably know I am a travel nurse. I have an interview for a full time staff position tommorow. I really want to get this job. I'm ready to settle down and get into a specialty field and get started on my BSN.
The hospital is in Gig Harbor, WA.
Anyone who is familiar with WA know of a good place to look for apartments around that area incase I do land the position?
Any advice, places to avoid, places that will give me a good commute etc. would be welcome.

I live in WA State and the hospital you speak of is St Anthony, a part of the Franciscan system. Iworked at a sister hospital, St. Clare, in Lakewood, WA. I truly enjoyed my time there and in that company.
I guess I would want to know what you are willing to spend and how far you are willing to commute to work. Gig Harbor is across the Tacoma Narrows, a toll bridge that can at times get very congested to drive, particularly if you are commuting into or out of Tacoma at the usual day shift times. I recommend you looking in and around Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, etc, for an apartment, if you do not want to cross the bridge. If you don't mind, check out University Place, not far from the Narrows Bridge and a fairly nice area to live. Be careful in and around Lakewood and certain areas of Tacoma (the Hilltop area) as some of the neighborhoods can be rather dicey.
http://www.forrent.com is a good resource to get the search started. Tacoma and Gig Harbor are not far apart, and there are plenty of apt complexes in and around Tacoma area and nearby. It really depends on whether you want use the bridge (and pay for it) everyday as to where you really choose to live....that and what you are able to spend.
good luck and PM me if you need more specific info. I lived in the Tacoma area for nearly 8 years myself, so I am fairly familiar with the area. Good luck in the new job if it's what you decide is a good fit for you.
