Hi all..

I m Pahry. In near time, I will have interview with a home care company from Dubai. Is anybody have been working as home care nurse in Dubai UAE? Is this working environment was exciting? Because surely different between work in hospital than work in homecare.. So I need your advice.. Before I decide to join.. They offers me 3800 AED with free meals and free accomodation and transport. Is this enough? Is the accomodation will be interest? I just afraid if they provide very bad accomodation, ex. 1 room for 4 person..

Waiting for any kind of advice. Thank you

Hello!

Moved to allnurses International Nursing for best chance member response.

Hello, I have not been a nurse in UAE but I spent my childhood there so I can answer some of your questions.

3800 AED is about 1000 USD. You need to ask them to specify certain things including your questions about accommodations. This could be anything. There are some horrible places to live in Dubai and some nice places. Don't go if they are not telling you specifics.

Ask them what kind of transport they are giving you. Is it a car for you to drive or is someone driving you to work only? If it is the latter, you will have to use a taxi to go anywhere other than work.

Are they paying your airfare? Make sure they are also giving you return airfare. Sometimes employers offer airfare for you to return home once a year to visit family. Ask about that.

Make sure it is clear how long your contract is, and how you will return home once it is over. Do not let anyone hold your passport.

I will tell you that in the UAE nurses are not as respected as they are in other countries. I don't know if this is true for home health nurses.

What country are you from? I'm curious about where they are recruiting.

I am not a nurse I am a business man.

Counter their offer and ask/demand for 4 times that amount and then meet them somewhere in the middle. Whatever works for you.

Draw up a contract and make sure they include return Airfare back to your home country.

Dubai is loaded with cash, might as well drain the well while you are there.....
