Anyone Certified as Epic Ambulatory Analyst?

Published

I am going to Epic in WI for training on Ambulatory Systems and then get a certification. Is there someone who has been thru this process who could tell me how the exams would look like or maybe a few examples. I just wanted to get some idea of the type of exams.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me.

Specializes in Everything except surgery.

edaga7 sorry, but I just saw this. I have went thru the Epic Ambulatory Certification, and I would glad to answer your questions. The certification has two tests, and three build projects, or it used to. There have been some changes since I became certified for Ambulatory & ASAP, but I'm sure most of it is just about the same.

PAY CLOSE attention in class, and take notes! Make sure you give your answers in their terminology, and be very detailed in your responses. Be Prepared...don't depend on the fact that it is open book, because it won't help you if you don't know the material!

Ask any questions, and I will respond. I have still have access to ISWTD, and can assist if needed. I'm on contract right now, and one week from Go Live...working 12hr shifts with only one day off...so give me a moment to respond.

Good Luck!

Hi, I live in California and came across these posts. I have worked 25+ years in the health insurance business on all levels. I wanted to know how did you become a person qualified to take the EPIC certification testing? I am a specialist in utilization review, coding analysis etc and worked for a company and learned the new EMR system but am unsure about this certification? Can someone help me and direct me where to start? Thank you.

I have been EPIC certified for about 3 years now, and I love being an EPIC trainer. I had a major career change coming from being a Customer Service Dept. Manager for a global IT company. I believe my background with systems, especially SAP Enterprise has allowed me to succeed in this field. NO ONE in my org has healthcare background, and do come from wide range of fields from IT to engineers because of the high growth and opportunity, to the fast-paced environment. It does appear that bachelors of science or higher appears to be the norm. My BS is in Business Administration/MIS from San Jose State.

Here in CA, EPIC jobs are opening up daily as healthcare systems have committed to EPIC implementation. My org has GOLIVES weekly, and I am in a great org with about 70 EPIC analysts/trainers. Travel in-state is very common, but appears throughout the orgs (kaiser, etc) you can have a choice of staying in your metro area. I have noticed that many resumes that come in and interviews that I sit in (panel interviews are common), come from out of state.

I can say that wherever you are, ask to be a SUPERUSER. This will serve to lay the groundwork as to whether you would like to be a part of EPIC implementation. After that, I can say get ready for MADISON, WI, because you live and breathe EPIC as it is intense training. GL.
