okay i am going to start the lvn program at baptist in jan...2010
and i am really interested to know how the whole lvn to rn mobility works??
do you go straight into it after lvn school or how does that work?? do you have to wait a semester? will i be behind the others that are already in the rn program!!?
my goal is to be an rn in the fastest amount of time possible and i just want to make good choices and be as informed as possible!!
any advice or help will be greatly appreciated!! thanks so much!

If you want to be an RN, you do not have to go to LVN school at all. Look into community colleges near you to get into an ADN program. The vast majority of RNs were not LVN/LPNs at all. You may still be able to get into a community college for January. Best wishes!
thank you for your reply!
yes i know that much, i am still waiting to hear from one of the rn schools i applied to.. but i was wondering specifically at baptist do the lvn class go straight into the rn class...

No, from what I understand the LVNs have to apply and have three months of clinical experience to start RN school. You only get credit for one semester of school so you'll be doing one year for LVN and then applying after you have the experience and doing another 3 semesters.
i went today to ask exactly what i meant my lvn mobility program...
and yes, you have to work for 3 months to go into the rn program which sets you back one semester.. sooo i am lookin at all the pros and cons!? ehh... so much to think about.
