Hello everyone :) I posted this in the pre-nursing student board as well, but I thought I would ask here, too.
I am wondering if anyone here has experience with BPCC in Bossier City, LA. I just applied for admission to pre-nursing there and I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer (until I can get in to speak with the Nursing Advisor).
Thanks!

I am starting pre-reqs this fall. :) I was hoping to apply next spring, but I may have to wait until 2014. I actually got an appt. to speak to the advisor this week, so I am excited to learn more.
I was wondering- do you know how cumulative GPA is calculated? I went to college 6 years ago and got a couple bad grades (just had a really bad semester due to personal reasons). I know some colleges will only use the grades from the past 5 years/ 30 credits/etc. Even with those grades, my cumulative is a 3.0 and will increase when I make all A's on my pre-reqs this Fall/Spring.
Also, do you know what the policy is on re-takes? I have a few classes that will transfer, but I got B's in them (again, 6 years ago) and was hoping to re-take for A's.
Any info you have would be great!
Best of luck to you!
I not sure about cumlative GPA or retakes. Sorry!! I'm hoping to apply next spring as well.
Keep me posted on what the advisor tells you about the cumulative GPA and retakes!

I was accepted into the Fall 2012 class and this is how I was told our class was chosen. They look at a three different things when choosing students to accept. They look at overall gpa, prerequisite gpa, and your score on the entrance exam. They use some kind of formula and if I remember correctly the overall gpa does not weigh as heavily as the other two scores. I also had a bad semester my first time at BPCC (think right out of high school fun times). As far as re-takes on classes, the two grades in the class will average out to one new grade. The second time you take the class that will not completely erase your previous grade, but will help increase the average of the two. If you have any more questions I would be happy to help the best I can and GOOD LUCK :)
One last thing.....I LOVE BPCC!! The faculty, staff, and fellow students are all so nice and helpful. Everyone is really working to help you succeed. It's the best (especially for the price!)
