Im in the evening class at Potter Rd BOCES. I LOVE the program. It is challenging, but the teachers are so helpful and available for you. I started the program in October. We are starting clinicals next month. I took the entrance exam over the summer and was on the waiting list for april, but then i got called and told there was an opening for the october program. i think its first come first served as far as the wait list goes
Thats good to hear! So clinicals dont start right away? Do they tell you in advance where your going? How many people are in a class? Do you know how many people were on the wait list when you were put on it? I really wish all the classes were at Potter (I thought they were). From my understanding only the night classes will be at Potter in April and October at least. I sortta know someone who went to Potter for day classes a few years ago. I was told that day classes will be at Niagara Lutheran in April and at the Southowns campus in October. Potter would have been so much better for me. Im still trying to figure out transportation. Are you currently working or are other students? Im just not sure how it would work out with my job (kind of set schedule). Do they keep you 4 to 10 or do they let you go early sometimes? I heard that well at least before that they would let the day class out at 12 sometimes. I was thinking about taking the entrance exam this Wednesday. I have been trying to review math...but not exactly sure what to focus on. I just kinda found out about the test. Any tips for whats on the exam? What happens after the exam..when do you find out how you did? I heard theres an interview is that soon after and how is it? Sorry so many questions! I just wanted to find more out. I went to Trocaire for 3 years and it was a joke. Thanks so much and I would appreciate anyhting else you think may be helpful/useful to know :) Sorry didnt realize you wrote about the examon other post. How soon is interview though
tila.12 I wrote to you about whats going on with me in another thread, idk if you saw it. Im not sure if the pm is working. I passed the entrance exam at Boces and they told me my scores were great. Im supossed to interview next Friday. Im just not sure what to expect/ what do they ask? Also some lady at a function I was at yesterday, I guess is finishing up Boces in April but shes at some location (cant remember street name) probably in Buffalo. She kept on saying there really isnt a day program anymore only nights. She said the people that are in her day class have circumstances of why they need to be in the day classes. She was I dont think Ms. whatever the name was would let you in! Idk if this is true, but I knew someone who went there a few years ago in day program. Also If you can please give me an idea of how the program is so I know what to expect. I wish I could talk to someone from the day program, I mean I guess it should be similiar? Im very stressed becasue Im not even sure if there are any openings for April (I doubt days if any at all), also my job isnt very flexible...I guess I can call HR but Im sure they wont be any help. It just would be alot with my job, also because I work certain days and at least Mondays would interfere with school. I dont think anything can reaaly be switched, or even night classes would interfere and be too much. I rather do days. Also getting a car on the road is also huge. I mean I think I would do well academically, but I just wish finacially I didnt have to worry about working. At the same time I dont want to lose senority becasue I work for a hospital. Thanks if you can help me. Im not sure what I can do?!
