Hey All-
I was just wondering if anyone is/has applied to TAMU-CC. I've applied to the compressed track BSN program in College Station and the waiting is killing me! Does anyone know if they do interviews?

Yeah, I applied there too! Since I don't have a prior degree (assuming I'm accepted) I'll be attending the Corpus Christi campus. I applied to 4 other schools as well, just in case. I won't hear from any of the schools until late-April / early-May. The wait is absolutely dreadful!
Well at least you applied to more than one school. TAMU-CC is it for me so if I don't get in than i'm out....

Have you thought about the E-line option at TAMU-CC? If you don't get in the accelerated program, consider it. As long as you meet the requirements, you shouldn't have problem getting in.

attention: students who submitted a nursing application between the dates of 12/26/2005 and 1/05/2006: due to computer system error some applications submitted were not received. please resubmit any nursing application originally submitted between those dates.

Thanks- I have been SERIOUSLY considering the E-line program but I don't know anyone who's done it that can tell me more about it. If you have any info please share :)
With E-line you complete the SAME classes as on-campus students, it's just a different method of delivery. Instead of going to classroom lectures everyday, you access your coursework online. We have to complete the SAME amount of clinical hours as on campus students, that requirement is mandated by the state of Texas. The clinicals will be set up as close to you as possible, but you may have to commute to a different city.
You really need to be able to work independently with minimal instruction to do this program. There is help available if you need it, but there is very minimal face-to-face interaction with anyone. The others students will help you whenever you need it.
The program is very challenging, but the flexibility is great because you do the work on your own schedule. It is not an accelerated program. You have up to 4 years to complete the program. But, realistically, it will probably take 2 years. You could do it in a shorter amount of time if you are able to devote 24-7 to schoolwork.
I'm finishing my first semester. I highly recommend the program. It has it's glitches, but overall, it has been a good experience.
FYI, I believe Texas Tech has started a similar program, but you have to live in certain areas in Texas.
I hope this helps. You can PM me with questions.
