Anyone out there applying/accepted to Yale's MSN-FNP program?

Published

Hi all! I'm applying to the Fall 2014 MSN-FNP program and I was hoping to pick some of your brains about your application process!

I'm already a registered nurse on the West Coast and currently have my MSN in leadership/management. I'm nervous about submitting my grad thesis to petition to waive the GRE - has anyone had any luck with this? I'm also pretty nervous about my grades (roughly 3.25 collectively). Any suggestions for the essay that really made yours stand out? I have over a decade of experience with medicine in the Army, all of my letters or rec were from nurses with doctorates, and I currently work in the ER and volunteer weekly so I'm TOLD that I'm competitive. I met with the admissions director a few weeks ago and she said I had a great chance in the MSN rather than Post MSN program, but now I'm wondering HOW MUCH of a chance I have and I keep stalling before I hit the submit button!

Any tips? THANKS!

I have some very similar questions as you! I am applying for Pediatric NP however. Any advice from anyone would be great!

Hi! I also applied to the MSN-FNP as an RN. I don't have tips, but I have all the same questions! Have you heard anything more about the program?

Hey guys! Just wanted to say that I got accepted! YIPEEE! But for financial reasons I accepted a better job rather than acceptance to Yale's FNP program.

In my experience it was a very easy process dealing with the staff and the interview. The Professor I interviewed with asked me to call her by her first name and we chatted for over an hour! Great experience and I look forward to applying in the future!
