Anyone apply to GMU Fall 2009?

Hello -

I'm relatively new to the site and have found it helpful reading other's posts on certain things I, too, have been wondering as I pursue a career in nursing.

I am just about finished with all my nursing pre-reqs and have applied to various nursing programs in the NoVa/DC met area. Basically hoping to get accepted into a program this Fall, preferable an absn as I already have a bachelors in Biology.

Just wanted to get a feel if anyone else is in the same boat...'the waiting to hear from any school to accept me' one. In particular, anyone planning (hoping) to go to GMU? I've heard mixed reviews about the program and wanted to get some more direct feedback, both from those applying to GMU and students currently attending there in one of their nursing programs.

Best of Luck to everyone who is working toward this career path!

I just found out this past Monday that I was accepted into the 2nd Degree Accelerated BSN program at GMU. I'm a little nervous about the first semester (specifically Pharmacology) but I'm excited as well to "jump" into this. If anyone else got into the program and you'd like to chat, just send me a message! Best of luck to everyone!

Well, I just heard back as rejected from the program, I'd really like to hear why. I'm setting up a meeting with the director of admissions if I'm able. I'd love to get in this year, but I guess the outlook of that's a bit bleak, so I s'pose I'll be reapplying. Good luck to everyone who got in!

Hi,all! I received the admission letter last week from GMU and GWU. I made a final decision going to GMU. Hope to see you all in Fall 2009!

I got in too! I'm very excited but really curious about what to expect in terms of schedule and just day-to-day lifestyle. Anyone have any good info?

I don't have any information on the schedule but I am definitely looking for some. Please let me know if you hear anything!

i believe that the schedule is given at orientation.

H!

I applied for GMU's fall 2009 traditional program. I applied as a transfer student because I already have a bachelor's degree. I know people who applied for the accelerated program have heard back; has anyone heard from the traditional program?

Also, I saw that some people applied for numerous nursing programs. I found that every nursing program required different prereqs which made it difficult to apply for more than one program. Did you just take a lot of prereqs this past year?

Thanks!!

Pmkn 10 - Can I talk to you about the program you're in? I really want to know a little more about it and haven't been able to get much out of GMU.

Sure. If you want you can send me a PM on here.

Has anyone who was accepted into the GMU accelerated nursing program for Fall 2009 received any packets or information about when Orientation is/where classes will be held/etc through the mail? I gave my acceptance reply on June 9th and I still haven't received anything in the mail on the vaccinations/requirements/etc...and I guess you could say that I'm freaking out a little because it's been a month and I don't want to miss anything. Have any of you who've been accepted into the program received anything yet?

Thanks!!

Just got my acceptance letter on Monday--a few days ago. I wonder why they sent the letters out at different times. Those few weeks of waiting were the worst wait ever!

I'm mostly concerned about the TEAS exam and how to pass it. As for the packet of information, I think they'll send it after July 10th since that's the deadline for replies. I guess they're waiting for everyone to respond and mail everything out then. Congratulations to everyone who got in.

Apparently I don't have the level of membership to PM on here.
