Anyone apply to the CSU San Marcos ABSN Program?

Published

hi everyone,

i'm new to the site, and was wondering if anyone else may be waiting for their response from csu san marcos for the spring 09 absn cohort? i am patiently waiting the july deadline, but after getting wait listed for the last program i applied to, i'm getting more and more nervous. :o especially now that july is less than a week away, and also b/c they weren't completely clear on the deadline for acceptance letters to be sent out (originally first week of july, then possibly pushed back to mid july, i've heard both). is there anyone else in the same boat???

ick, i hate waiting. well, good luck to everyone! :heartbeat

Me!

Thanks, I didn't want to be the first to ask.

I believe that the notification date is July 18th, based on CSUSM's extended learning site. http://www.csusm.edu/el/acceleratedbsn/how_to_apply.php

I think it's so they can consider your summer courses when checking your prerequisites. If enrolled in summer classes, proof of registration was due June 25, so it gives them about three weeks to include that information and make descisions. (I'm currently enrolled in Child Development, CA Government, and Marriage&Family, myself) I have a classmate who applied to the traditional BSN, they were also given the date of July 18th, but told they might hear as early as the last week in June. If that applies to us as well, I wouldn't mind knowing a little sooner!

Nerve-wracking isn't it? This is my only application, as I had intended to start the prereq process this upcoming year, but moved up plans due to a layoff. I'm kind of at loose ends if I don't start this Fall. Attending CSUSM also means being able to live at home, which is attractive as I've still got my first set of loans looming.

Good luck! We can commiserate and countdown the days...:dzed:

Well, hopefully we will hear sooner. Yeah, I also have two summer classes. I applied to one Alternate Entry MSN program too, but I'm wait listed (which I now see as a blessing in disguise, cause I like the idea of the CSU program more.) Anyway, definitely good luck to you!! I can't stop checking my mail. I'll be on vacation the week of the 18th, so I'm hoping they might be in the mail a bit sooner. AHH! So nerve wrenching!

Hey everyone, I have applied to CSUSM's ABSN program also so just like you guys, I am nervous! I also applied to Oklahoma's ABSN program in conjunction with Sharp Hospital in San Diego. Have you guys looked into that program? Well, good luck to us!

AHH! I'm so excited I just got my acceptance letter to the ABSN program! It can in an email!!! I just accepted and sent my intent to enroll. What a relief!! YAY!

Congratulations! Now I am even more nervous. The Oklahoma program with Sharp is actually my first choice but I think I will take what I can get. Congrats again!

:yeah:Hurrah! I just got my e-mail, too!!! I got into the Temecula cohort - someone/thing out there really is looking out for me! Riy2b - are you on the main campus? I'm out of town for Orientation - I hope that is okay - I will stay home if I have to, but it's an employment commitment, so I really hope they are okay with me maybe sitting down with an advisor to go over everything. I am super sad to miss a chance to meet everyone ahead of time, though!

Ako, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm on the main campus, thankfully, cause that's much closer for me. I can't wait to meet everyone at the orientation. I would definitely say you should double check with the school about missing it, I have summer school that day, but I don't mind missing one day of class. WOO HOO! Hope it all works out for you.

Hi everyone!

Congrats if you were accepted to the ABSN program. I also just received my acceptance email, for the Temecula cohort. Does anyone know how they choose which students go to San Marcos, and which students go to Temecula. I wonder if there is any way to change this. I'm worried about it b/c I live about an hour and 30min from Temecula! :(

Also...does anyone know anything about National University? I'm trying to decide btwn the two schools.

Congrats to you!

I'm on campus, I'm not sure how they decided, but maybe that will be answered at the orientation.

Hey caligirl! I got accepted to the Temecula Cohort, and I have the same problem with it being an hour and half away! Id on't know what i'm going to do. Maybe we'll have our clinicals closer to san marcos and just classes in temecula. I guess we'll find out more when we get our welcome packet. I haven't received it yet, I need to figure out how to pay for school!!eek:mad:

Yeah, I guess we will find out at the orientation! Hopefully it will all work out for us. :)
