Hi,
I recently applied to attend UU- Germantown for Fall 2016. By reading older threads, I understand the acceptance process varies. Has anyone recently been accepted into the program within the past year?
Can you provide feedback on the program schedule including clinicals?

Greetings fbaldwin1 I have been accepted to UU. I've also been accepted to several other programs, but UU seems to be one of the most economical in cost for a 15 month program. I'm now doing my research for the cost of living (especially rent/boarding) and TN seems pretty fair in comparison to the east or west coast. Was Germantown your first choice? Did you apply to the other 2 locations? Where are you from? Do you have previous healthcare experience? Cheers
Hello Nurse_EPLFan,
That's awesome! Will you attend UU Fall 2016? Yes, Germantown is my first option. No, I haven't applied to the other locations but considering the Jackson location. No, I do not have any previous Healthcare experience, this will be a career change.
How many students does Union Germantown accept for the Accelerated BSN program?
Glad to hear from you fbaldwin1, and happy new year! Yes I was accepted to join that class. You should apply to at least one another location to have a solid back-up, its worth the investment and peace of mind. You should afford yourself the peace of mind. Still looking on the stats of the school, but most allnurses members who have attended UU seem to say great things about the school/program. Its good to hear that the program is well paced and organized, with supportive professors. Do you have family/children? Where are you commuting from? are you a TN local? Cheers
Yes, Happy soon to be New Years!! When did you apply and receive your acceptance? What site are you attending? I recently applied which was after the priority deadline of November 1st.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely apply to another location for a backup. Yes, I agree the comments from other allnurses seem to be good but they are a little dated.
Yes I have family/children and I'm a TN local. How about you?
Cheers!
I'm not sure what the the priority deadline in november is for since they also have a February priority deadline. The february priority deadline makes more sense to me since the Fall 2016 application closes 7/1/2016. I too applied after november 1st, and received my acceptance a few weeks after. I no children or wife and I'm actually from the west coast. I'll be coming in with healthcare experience and have done missionary work. I'm glad I applied to a handful of programs because by doing that I'm able to see more clearly which schools is a better fit for me, whether its the schools personal mission or the economical ability to resettle there. Since you are a seasoned local what are the pros/cons of Germantown over Jackson and Hendersonville. I noticed that rent maybe cheaper in Jackson over the other two locations. Yet the other two locations might have a more vibrant city atmosphere and are still proximal to rivers/lakes. Have a safe holiday and I'll be praying for your success! Cheers
I'm not sure of the pro/cons of the locations but Germantown is closer to me in distance. Jackson will be close to a hour drive. Yes, I would assume that Jackson rent would be more affordable than Germantown and Hendersonville. I would suggest maybe visting all three locations if possible. Again, congratulations and Happy New Years!
Blessing to you!
Thank you fbaldwin1, I'll be keeping you in my prayers until you receive a notice from UU. Heres my 2 cents, I know what it is like to get a rejection letter from a school and even though it may have not been one of my top 5 choices it still leaves a sting. But I have received a warm reception from several programs that have made me feel like a priority candidate instead of an option. And getting accepted into those schools feels more like divine appointment than just shallow validation. One of my favorite pastors says have ridiculous faith when you feel tested. Applying to grad school or an accelerated bsn program requires ridiculous faith and hard work. Keep your spirits up I'm sure a timely response will be coming your way :)

@fbaldwin1 I was curious have you heard anything from Union University yet? I'm about to pay the deposit and I thought of your situation. I'm headed to the Jackson campus. Did you consider applying to Jackson? I always think of Johnny Cash's Jackson song when I tell friends about my future nursing education.
Hello! Yes, I did apply for the Jackson campus as well. I'm still waiting for NURSINGCAS to complete verification. I will start my prerequisites early next month.
Congratulations on being accepted for the Jackson campus! This is my 2nd location of choice.
Yes, lookout Jackson town!
I'm so glad you decided to have a back-up plan, you will thank yourself for it! What classes are you taking? The only class I need is Pathophysiology and I'm going to try to take it during spring. I have the books to most of the pre-req classes so If you need or want them, just let me know. I bought Santrock's Developmental Psychology text for only $4, it was a steal! I would rather give it to a fellow classmate instead of using it for fire wood . I really enjoy the outdoors, and Jackson County has a spot called Cummings Falls. Have you ever been there, could you recommend any other similar hiking spots if you know of any? In between studies I would still like to maintain my hiking hobby, especially before our clinical rotations begin. Keep us posted on your success & goodluck!
