Anyone Accepted into Ohio State's Online FNP?

Great news! Did you apply to many other schools? I'm told that the application process was so competitive for Ohio State, especially for the FNP, so we are very fortunate. I can't wait to find out more information. Do you know any other people who have been accepted?

I only applied to OSU. How about you? I had also heard that it was very competitive this year, so I grew a little nervous towards the end. I haven't talked to anyone else who was accepted into the program. I still don't know how I got in considering my less than stellar resume. I suppose we are lucky.

I talked to the folks up in the CON at OSU the other day, and I was told that the curriculum is being changed and our adviser should contact us by late May. I hope all is going well on your end, and keep in touch!

Hi MwtM!

Hope all is well with you. Interesting info...I downloaded the handbook and saw the changes that include classes such as Quality Improvement. Yikes. That seems like it's going to entail a lot of paper writing. Do you plan to attend the orientation on July 24, 25? Do you know how many times we are expected to be on campus? I was reading the website that summarizes the program and it stated that even students who will be attending the on-campus program will be participating in an online format for many of the classes. I researched the program and not only is OSU highly ranked, but the FNP is one of the top in the country. So we're very fortunate, indeed! I plan to speak to my advisor tomorrow about registering for classes and will be filling out the FAFSA, too. Would you like to exchange email addresses?

I am starting the online FNP program at OSU in the fall too! I went to OSU for my BSN so I'm very familiar with everything at the CON. The faculty is great and I'm sure the program is great as well, I'm just upset that we have to start the program with pathophysiology :/

Hello you two, sorry about my late reply. I will be going to the orientation later this month as well. I am in Brown County, Ohio. I am not sure how often we will have to go to campus. What exactly should we be doing right now, anyway? I'm registered for classes and kind of in a holding pattern. Patho won't be fun but at least they don't make us take patho, assessment, and pharm all at the same time. Nice to meet you both!

I was told in my meeting with the adviser that we attend campus once, which is the orientation this month and we are not expected again until graduation. I am registered for classes, too. Did either of you enroll in any synchronous classes? I think we are supposed to be getting everything situated with financial aid at this point. And yes, patho, assessment and pharm would be a disaster in the same semester!

Hi!

I know this is somewhat of an old post... Is anyone able to give me some info on how the program is going for you so far? How helpful is osu with finding preceptors? Thanks in advance :-)
