I've heard that A&P (Bio 2870) at Wayne State is a killer anyway, but has anyone dared to take it during Spring/Summer semester? I would imagine that would make it even harder as it an abbreviated semester. But I'm trying to plan my prerequisite schedule and I may have to do this.
Anyone have any experience with this??
Thanks!

I know this is an old thread but thought I'd bump it up for you.
The teacher who is teaching this summer is notoriously hard and he's the one that usually teaches (I think last year someone else did it one semester but this guy and A&P at Wayne are synonymous). That said, if it's the ONLY class you're taking during the summer I don't think it's a bad idea. It's a lot of info, but if that's your only class you have to worry about and you have the time to dedicate I say go for it. Just be sure that you're able to stick with it.
I know you're interested in the program at Wayne and it really is important to take your prereqs there and do well in them to be competitive for that program. You don't want to have to repeat that class as it will pretty much kill your shot at the program....
Everyone who takes A&P together has a special bond. Make some good study buddies and prepare to kiss all social life goodbye (at least for the summer). :)
Let me know if I can be of any help or answer any questions!

WayneStateKatie, I can't remember... Are you currently in the ABSN at Wayne?
I'm in the traditional program and have one year left after this one.
We do take some classes at the same times as CD2ers though. The ones we had all first semester classes with graduated this past December and we are currently in Medsurg 2 with the ones who started this past fall. We'll see them once more in leadership next fall and then they'll be gone while I still have another semester left.
While I sometimes envy that they're done earlier than I am, I enjoy my summers off and the fact that I have the time to work during the traditional program which isn't really an option for them.

Watching MSU basketball and surfing the net. I had the prof who teaches A & P at Wayne- he is an excellent teacher and you will come out knowing the material (IF YOU LIVE AND BREATHE THE MATERIAL). He will expose your weaknesses and takes no prisoners. His exams are nothing you will ever see again(or you have seen) unless you go to Medical school. I really enjoyed it but my advice would be to take nothing else if you take it in the summer or make sure you don't take too many credits if you take it in the Fall. An A or B in his class is hard earned. Most got a lot lower. That being said, I was out of school for a very long time and took this class, nutrition, and development psych and did well. Think of this class as two classes in one. It's a killer. I hope I didn't scare you but I have to be honest. He does allow one drop so it helps. Advice: don't drop the first one. It only gets harder.
His reputation is well deserved. Good stuff.
