I'll have my ADN in 2015, and I KNOW I want to join the USAF. I also know that I would need my BSN to get a nursing job. I want to join and then finish my BSN after I join, but I also know that's its better to join after you have your BSN (officership and everything). What are your thoughts?

You cannot join Nurse Corps in any Uniformed service branch without at least a Bachelors in Nursing. The only way to join would be as an enlisted person with an ADN.

to tag onto WTBCRNA's comment.... the AF does not utilize LPN's at all. Army uses LPN's though. Keep in mind, LPN would be enlisted not officer. So if you want to be an RN and officer your best bet it to stick to it and get your BSN. Good luck.

The Army National Guard currently commissions ADN nurses, but to be accepted, you would have to be currently enrolled in a BSN program.

Found it. Read under the Nurse Corps heading:

I will have to look into the Nat'l Guard. I will be going right into my BSN after I graduate. I want to be a nurse in the field though, not sure how much I would see in the NG. I guess I'm just anxious to get out there and start... I've want to be a nurse in the military since I was little.. Not a doctor, not a vet... A military nurse hahaha. I'm 22 and I feel like I should be there by now. And especially with what I've been reading about the job cuts... Not sure if that's something to really worry about, but I want to join, and I want to be a nurse. Officership is a bonus, an I know in the long run I want to be there.
