Any VA Clinic LPNs here?

Published

I would like to know the pros and cons of working in a VA clinic and any info would be appreciated! Thanks! :nurse:

VA clinics in my area are hard to get into....tons of "in house" nurses apply for the job. our clinic is all part of the hospital tho. Pro great hours, and hey you work at the VA decent benefits. Cons...yeah tons of hypertension and similar diagnosis, here we have a huge geriatric population so its always similar things. I have noticed that LPN's at the VA receive a lot of respect from the DR's. I work in the hospital but they have had girls leave my unit to go down to the clinic...its buizzy and they enjooy it!

Good luck

Thanks so much for the info, Angela. I was surprised to see 2 LPN openings where I applied. I sent everything I could possibly think of in the packet to be considered for the job and really hope and pray that I will be chosen. If it's meant to be, it will happen. Once again, thank you....

Good Luck...Like I said the VA here loves the LPN's I do not think they higher too many RN's in primary care clinic where I work. The VA likes to use the LPN to their full scope of practice. Best of luck to you getting your new job!

i'm trying to apply using their website, but i can't find the application. do i have to actually go there? or is there a link i can follow? thanks!

I would be interested in a web site as well. There is a VA facility within my neighborhood, and I would like to apply.

Our VA here has all the applications online you can print them and drop them off in person at HR. Or I just went in and picked one up! Paperwork paperwork, paperwork! Wait until you get the job and you get the paperwork!
