In looking at the application requirements to UNC SON for a 2nd-timer with a previous bachelors their minimum for the BSN (not accelerated) is a 2.5. My GPA from college was pretty poor...about a 2.3, but my pre-req work is a 3.85, and will hopefully improve as I keep taking classes. Can I take some of my undergrad classes over to boost that 2.3 a little? (maybe English, Gen BIO, etc) I also have to take a couple of other classes like General Psych, Chem, General Soc. Will those help boost the minimun GPA? I am worried that I would just be SOL for trying to apply to Carolina because of my previous "stupidity" of not giving a darn about school.
Wow, what a dream come true that would be for me. Growing up I NEVER thought I was "smart" enough to go to Carolina. After actually growing up...I realized I AM!! I just never worked hard before. What do you think?

Maybe even try contacting Chapel Hill directly with your questions about retaking classes? ??

Try calling UNC School of Nursing's admissions office. The staff there (on the whole) is very nice and is almost always willing to answer any questions you may have. Their phone number is (919) 966-4260.

Remember that your 3.85 will raise your 2.3 and like the previous psoter said, call teh school and talk to Anna Terry, she works with undergrad admissions, she is very helpful. Try to interject as frequently as you can, with out pleading, that you have worked since your first degree to have a 3.85.
