I am looking to pay off my school loans as quickly as possible. A buddy of mine told me about an agency that gets new nurses jobs at nursing homes. I have worked a nursing home for the past 3 months. My question is this do you have any tips to help me as I take all these assignments? Asking the permanent nurses on patient preferences? Thanks!

It sure would be nice if you had a situation like many of my colleagues at one LTC facility. There was another facility directly across the street. Several of the nurses would work one shift at one place, then walk across the street to work a second shift at the other place. They didn't even have to move their cars from one parking lot to the other. Only thing more convenient would be working a double shift at one place and getting paid some nice overtime for doing so. Try to develop some rapport with your coworkers so that everyone can be of assistance to each other as you move around and meet each other coming and going. Don't be afraid to give and take phone numbers so that each can act as an early warning system. That goes a long way toward helping ride out multiple work assignments when somebody is looking out for you and vice versa.
