Any RNs or NPs who are also lawyers?

Published

Anyone out there both a lawyer and an RN or NP?

I am a nursing student and am licensed as an attorney in NY and CA. I'm curious to hear from anyone who has a law license about how you navigated your clinical placements and/or nursing jobs wrt disclosing to HR and making sure you are complying with your ethical and legal responsibilities as both a lawyer and nurse. My nursing school is offering zero advice/support (and even had their legal counsel convey a statement that they are not providing any advice or counsel on this matter). I start my first clinical rotation in January and am going to disclose my law licenses to the hospital's HR dept, so would just love to hear from anyone who has dealt with the dual lawyer/RN roles.

Happy to discuss offline if that's more comfortable for anyone!

Thanks in advance!

Oh, I'm in CA, so any insights from CA nurses/NPs would be especially helpful. Thanks!

I am curious, why do feel that you need to disclose that information to HR??
