You mean you didn't celebrate National Penguin Day??!

Of course you mean Pittsburgh Penguin, right? No? Well, what good is the day then. :)

I personally couldn't care less but yes we have a generic acknowledgement.

I've been pouring myself into creating a better work experience for all of my staff including our nurses while completly forgetting to acknowledge nurses' week. My staff are neither ignorant nor shallow and differentiate between genuine consideration and effort and a fleeting appreciation though it would be nice to be able to provide both.

Oh yeah we have done 'hospital week' for years now. No more nurses week or month or anything else for that matter.

Yes, they are, and I'm still a little salty about it. "Everyone contributes!" ...yes, and would it be terrible to give them their own weeks? I wouldn't have a problem with that. But co-opting ours to just give everyone a one-and-done party is annoying.

"Nurses week means all hospital staff week."

Fine with me as long as all hospital staff starts rounding every hour on my patients and stops rerouting everything through me. "Ask the nurse about that insurance plan." What? "The nurse will get you a different tray." How? "The nurse will find you some new clothes." OK!

Nursing Home Hell completely ignored Nurses Week, then went all-out for Nursing Home Week.

It's really a shame National Grilled Cheese Day doesn't line up with Nurse's Week. Marilyn could could serve the sammies and hit two birds with one stone.

Yes, they do all have their own weeks and at my work we celebrate all of them! It's just the nurses that have lost our week to Hospital Week.
