As you can see from the name, I'm a CMA, and I plan on returning to school to become an RN. I'm thinking about stopping along the LPN road first. Shopping around for a few good schools to consider. I've heard good things about 1199C, but thats about it. I live in Philly and I'm looking for a little feedback from my Philadelphia region nurses. Any suggestions?

I, too have heard bad things about that school. Did you look into Eastern? It is hard to find a school now in Philadelphia...But some hospitals are still hiring. I would MUCH rather work in a hospital than LTC. 4-5 patients or 30-40? No contest.
Philanurse wat school in Philly u went to? oh and Eastern are ok but they are very money hungry! wat LPN school do you know that want you deposit 1350$ 4 weeks before school starts? i had a call back back from them for the interview but after learning about that price, i had to fall back! now i will be going to Center for Arts and Technology, in Coatesville and so far, i heard great things about them.
There you go, sounds like a plan. My school is now closed...BESt of luck to you , study hard and enjoy your schooling, it will go by in a blink!
tanx. i know it will be a hard road but i am ready for the challenge! so how much can a new LPN makes in Philly?

What's Wrong With 1199c?
Not having gone there, perhaps I should not have badmouthed it. But I guess someone has something bad to say about every school, right?
yeah you are right because I say things all the time about the school I attended. Really I just wanted to hear what you had to say about the school, I personally know of someone who went to 1199C and she had nothing good to say about that school.........
where did you go? maybe we can exchange horror stories...haha!

Hi everybody!
I applied to 1199C before, but I decided not to go there...Have you looked into PITC (Princeton Information Technology Center) in Glenside? It is a very small school and I believe they should be starting fourth or fifth class. I was the second class to graduate. I have to admit, they were pretty pricey though....There is also PIT (Pennsylvania Institute of Technology) in Delaware County, Prism (don't know where that is), and Folcroft (don't know where that is either).
I am from Philly, I didn't attend a LPN school there......I attended Community College for my Pre-Req's for the RN program, I now live in NC and just graduated (I took the LPN route......for now) I am ready to take the state boards............so any tips or anything recent you or anyone else may have heard about the NCLEX will be greatly appreciated............I am scared to death, I have about 3 more weeks until I take the test!
