:) Hey All-
I am starting my NC 1 and just wanted to make sure I am on the right track.
Is there anyone from Ohio who is going through Excelsior ADN?
I talked to the State board of Nursing and she said no problem, but I wondered if there are any special requirements?
Any info would be appreciated

I live in Toledo, Ohio. I have completed all my Nursing Concepts exams, finishing up my pre-requisites, and have a CPNE date scheduled in Albany of September 9-11.
Ohio has no problems with Excelsior.

I live in ohio and I am still struggling with the general education componet. I have decided to take the English Composition in class this summer. Does anyone have any advice on A&P? How long did it take for you to study?

I am a recent EC grad from Ohio. I had no problems with getting my license in Ohio. Well one problem...the state lost my paperwork. But no problems with being an EC grad. Good Luck!!!!

I am just enrolling to finish 1 through 7 concepts. All of my pre reqs are done. I plan to follow the 5-weeks plan which seems to work out pretty good cause that is how I did a couple clep test. Please tell me where you took your CPNE and how the experience was. I have researched and feel that the nursing concepts won't be a problem, Heck, I feel OK with the state boards believe it or not. I am totally terrified of the CPNE cause I have heard so much bad negative stuff about it. I am going to order the video and watch it a 100 times. I would so appreciate any advice from you.
Thanks Wings
P.S. You are an inspiration to those of us at the bottom trying to climb the moutain you have overcome.

I think this is such a great thread cause I have just decided to get my RN through excelsior as well. I want to take my general eduacation courses at my community college since I know I'll need a little extra help with subjects like general microbiology and the likes. I really just will take nursing concepts through excelsior and I do have questions. Do you have to have your prereq's done to start taking the nursing courses or can I do them at the same time? I too have heard scary things about the CPNE. It has me nervous but I'm still going to give it a try.
