Hi all! just a simple question about the MTC Nursing program. I finished the pre-nursing certificate in spring 2018, and just applied for Merit admission. If I am admitted through merit I begin clinicals in or before May 2019. My question is, of the nursing courses, which are clinicals that can only be taken once my start date is reached and which, if any, are non-clinical classes that can be take prior to this start date. The list of classes I'm referring to is as follows:
(#) indicates the # of credits
Nur 134 (5)
Nur 162 (3)
Nur 131 (1)
Nur 136 (2)
Nur 105 (1)
Nur 157 (7)
Nur 227 (7)
Nur 144 (1)
Nur 237 (7)
Nur 256 (4)
Are all of these clinical or only certain ones? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, the only class that you can take before you start is 131, and that can not be any sooner than one semester before your first semester of nursing school (134/136). I took classes for my BSN while I waited. If I could go back, I would probably try to get my CNA and start working during the time that I waited.
Thanks so much for responding! I knew there would be a bit of a wait and that would cause me to lose my Life scholarship, so I started working toward my cardiac care tech certificate (it's a 3 semester program, like the cna program) while doing my pre-nursing. I will finish that program next semester and hope to start working to gain some leverage on my resume.
I'm doing the bsn program too (with USC). I'll be finished with those classes in Spring 2019, just before I hope to start clinicals.
Do you have any advice for an incoming student? I'm super nervous to start clinicals and have no experience other than what I'm learning about doing ECGs.
If you don't mind my asking, were you admitted through merit? If not, were you bumped up on the list? How were clinicals-- Any horrible teachers? I'd really appreciate any tips , advice, or info about clinicals, studying, really anything!
Sorry to ask all the questions, I hope I'm not bombarding you. Thanks so much again for responding!
