Hi there, Trying to see if there are actually lpn/lvns that work part time hours while there kids are in school. Still trying to decide if nursing is for me or if my good paying 8-5 job is the right thing. Anyone out there work 9-3 or short hours? And if so, what kind of facility? Thanks for any input! -Clarissa

I work part time but my hours are spread over evenings and weekends. It took me seven years to find this position
Most part time day light hours are 0700-1330 in my area and they are in LTC and involve backbreaking pt. loads.
The school health programme is 08-1600 during the school year.
You might find some hours in a medicentre type clinic.
There are times I've felt working at McDonalds would have given me more flexible hours to deal with my family life.

This is my BIGGEST concern about going into nursing. I have been a stay at home mom for the last 3 years and although I love being with my kids, we need another income. Im definately in a hard place right now trying to decide what to do....
