Any LPN's in Charleston..I'm looking to move

I currently live and work in Pittsburgh, PA. I am in need of a change and I want to move to Charleston, SC. I do not know anyone there, but I have visited many times. I wanted to know where is the best place to live and work in or around the area that will hire LPN's at a good pay rate. I have worked thru an agency for the past 4 years but the agency I am currently with does not have an office in SC. I was also looking into Summerville and North Charleston to live. Are those nice areas? Any advice would be very helpful.

Summerville and most of North Charleston are great places to live. (There are a few sketchy areas of N. Charleston.)

See the thread about moving to Charleston near the top of this forum for more information.

What type of nursing are you interested in? Hospital, nursing home? The newspaper there is the Post and Courier.

MUSC has a jobs page: https://umajobs.musc.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1164326300424

My preference would be Summerville over N Charleston. It is a fairly expensive area. My son lived in James Island about 5 mi from downtown but easily accessible.

I noticed that your post is a couple of months old, but I wanted to mention that corrections is an interesting place to work. I'm a LPN and I currently work at the Chas. Co Detention Center (County jail) and I previously worked at Henrico Co. Jail in Virginia. I am satisfied with my pay and enjoy the work. I try to focus on providing quality healthcare service to everyone I come into contact with. There are so many opportunities in corrections! We need GOOD nurses, so I hope you'll consider it.

I know that this post is old, but i see the correctional facilities hire LPNs. Is it a good place to work as a new grad and how much is the starting salary? Any info for this area in any type of setting would be greatly appreciated...thanks.
