I'm really curious to know if anyone can give me info on what it's like to work at Select Specialty Hospitals? I know they have at least 2 locations in Phoenix. What's mgmt. like? patient ratio? etc. Any info you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks!

I can tell you what I know from the persceptive of my mother being there for a month. I have not worked there. 95% of the patients are on vents and in the process of being weaned off. The ratio seems to be 1:4. They seem to pay better than most local hospitals and have a sign on bonus, (I think it's around 5K for an RN). It is rare to find a pulmonogist or Dr, (remember from a patien'ts perspective), everything is done on standing orders. I don't recall every seeing a CNA there.......so it's total care for the RN. I also don't recall any LPNs working there either.
Hope that helped a little - as an RN I would consider working there :)

My wife worked there as a CNA for a Registry and said it was a awsome experience. I hope that helps:mad:
