If you are a current or past student of PVCC please share your experiences at PVCC, what you feel are the pros and cons, differences in other nursing schools in the area, etc. This would be so very much appreciated as it is so helpful to actually hear from students perspectives. Also, what about experience continuing on with an RN-BSN and MSN? Thanks ahead to anyone willing to share.

Right now i am going through the LPN program at the Pioneer campus-I dont reccomend it at all. I dont know about the RN program but from what I have heard it's gone down hill fast! The Penn Valley Campus itself is a good campus. It has the feeling of a small school but it still offers alot. Also since it is a part of the MCC you can go to another one of their schools if its closer and get credit for it without going through all the hassles of transferrs! all in all its a great school they just realy need to work on the nursing programs

I was at Penn Valley 2001-2002 and absolutely hated it. I do not recommend their nursing program at all. I lived fairly close to the school, but instead decided to leave PVCC and drive over 50 miles (one way) to St. Joseph to Missouri Western. I think MoWest well prepared me for boards and my nursing career. There are always ups and downs, but I would recommend them.

They have the same problems that I hear about every other school. Some parts great some not so however it seems that the parts that need improvement the faculty would either like to change or is in the process of changing. They have a good pass rate for the boards and a high retention rate which is really all that I care about as it speaks volumes. You can always look at the board pass rate for all the schools to compare. PVCC is working just fine for me so far. :)
