Hello all, just seeing if there is any husband and wives who do this together. If so how does is it work as far as housing expenses? Do you both receive the housing stipen?

I travel with my husband, but he isn't a nurse. If both husband and wife are travel nurses, one would get the free housing, and the other would get the housing stipend (or both get the stipend if you have your own housing).
Thank you for your reply. Which would be more of a benefit?
Well, if my husband was a nurse, I would have one of us take the free housing, and then have the other take the housing stipend- then I wouldn't have to worry about getting my own housing, but if you are going to travel in an RV, or stay with friends or family, or travel within commuting distance from your existing home, then you wouldn't need company housing, so you could both just take the housing stipend. It all depends on whether you need company housing or not.

Hi, my husband Gary and I are both RN's. We have worked togeather for the past 10 years at two different hospitals. We don't work in the same department together but, we work the same shifts.
We have just bought a travel trailer, since we have an empty nest, and are planning on strarting to travel after the first of the year.
We are really excited about the unique opportunity this offers us.

Would girlfriend and boyfriend count here? I travel with my gf and she is also an RN. Our previous companies offered either free stipend for both of us (paid separately) or a free housing for one and a stipend for the other. We both always prefer to get the stipend. We look for a decent apartment at rent.com and have it furnished by Cort's and we get a few hundred dollars savings (last assignment was $800!) from one of our stipend every month. We split what we saved and split the other stipend as well. We earn more money since the stipend is tax free!
It doesn't matter if you guys are not married. what hospitals and cites have you guys been to? my husband and i are leaving next week for omaha ne going to bergan mercy hospital. cost of living is pretty cheap there so we both took the housing stipend and found a nice apt for 500/month.
Indiana, Illinois, Phoenix, Sacramento, Corpus Christi and San Antonio. Worked with a total of 32 hospitals in less than 3 years! Sacramento is our favorite since we can drive an hour and a half west to go to San Francisco and drive 2 hours east to go to Lake Tahoe. Phoenix is great too. Sedona is just an hour and a half drive north.
