Any Home Health Florida (Miami) Nurses?

Published

Hi All!

Can any nurses advise what the pay rate is more or less in home health in Florida, specifically Miami? Is it hourly? Per visit? How flexible is it? Do you enjoy it?

Thanks in advance!

I don't currently do home health and don't know if I plan to, but I talked to two pediatric home health agencies. Both have nearly identical payrates and I think it's because of the medicaid reimbursement. Both agencies pay $16/hr for a PDN case that can be staffed by either LPN or RN. One agency has ONE PDN case that can be staffed by an RN and that's $17-18/hr. Visits are $50 for an admission and $35 for skilled visit.

thank you for this!

Can you tell me the difference between PDN and a skilled nursing visit? Thank you!

PDN is private duty nursing where you work for a certain number of hours at a client's home. It's like shift work but with one patient. A skilled nursing visit is just that, it's one visit with the patient and can be any amount of time depending on the task(s) performed.

oh, got it! Thanks! I wouldn't want to do PDN. Just the skilled and admission!
