I like skyscape because it offers products for a variety of formats and some of the software is free! The others are priced close to what you would pay for a hardcopy. Check out the demos and see if you like them.

Epocrates so far is my favorite. It's got enough bells and whistles and such... easy enough to use and of course, IV drug compatability in a "bunch" format. That is, you pick a drug and keep on plugging in drugs for it to be compatible with and voila. Nice. Now I've just realized that I can't spell "compatibility" to save my neck.

www.palmgear.com has freeware you can download. Beware, there's enough programs in there that you could look for hours. Pick a category then tell it to sort by price. That way freeware will be first. ABG decoder is good, there's a thing called "eponyms" that is sort of like a dictionary for weird stuff. I've got something on copd, something with guidelines for vent weaning, and a game called "freejongg" which is fine except for the fact that playing majongg on a tiny screen is hard on the eyes.

I am currently using software from PEPID. It's like having a few reference books in your pocket. Check out the nursing resources on www.pepid.com ! I think it is excellent!

I use my Palm every day at work! Not only for the drug/treatment references but also for storing my addresses, photos, and I can even read books on it! As a travel nurse, my motto is "If you can't carry it, you don't need it." I've got 64+ full-length books on a card the size of a postage stamp. If you're into it, here are 2 good sites:

peanutpress.com

fictionwise.com

Have fun!
