Well, I'm not from KY, but why are you crying? Stop that!

I am in KY, and am a EC grad. I'd be glad to help in any way I can.
How long did it take you to complete the program and how many classes did you have to take? I am married, have 2 children and work fulltime and I cant seem to get motivated. Do you have any pointers?
It took me 18 months, but I had some life stuff going on at the time. I had already taken Micro, Lifespan Psych at JCC, Eng. in the past, and ended up CLEPping Soc, Chem, & Biology during the program. For the record, I had 2 children at the time, and worked FT nights.
The best advice I can give you in getting motivated to study is to go ahead and schedule your exam 1 or 2 months in advance. That will give you a time line to go by.
If you work in a hospital, find a couple RN mentors to help you visualize the things you learn- it will help to make your transition into the RN role much easier.
You CAN do this, and probably get tuition reimbursement for it from your employer. Also- I got the Nursing Incentive Scholarship from the KY BON:

You can apply around June, and it's so worth it.
KY is a good state to be in for an EC student.
It took me two years, almost to the day, including waiting for the CPNE.
Edited to add: I did as BBFRN suggested and scheduled the frackin' exsam. Then I HAD to study.
Thanks for the input - I have been a home health nurse for 9 years and I have some supportive RNS that are trying to motivate me thru the program
Did you use any of the publishing companies such as college network to get your books?

Nope! Completely unnecessary -- they just want your money, and add thousands to the bottom line. If you like a particular company's guides, you can generally find them for sale on eBay.
Of course, I'm trying to convince Sue & Lunah to move down here with us.
I'm with Lunah on the publishing company thing. Don't waste your money. EC also has free course guides and practice tests.
I am planning on taking the NC1 test within the next month - Do you have any pointers on this test?:coollook:
Yes- take the practice test in the EC website. The questions are VERY similar to the real test.
The first exam is always scary. Just know there will be no surprises. Anything that may be covered on the exam will be in the study guide.
I don't have my notes any more, or I'd send them to you.
Thanks for the input - I will print out the study guide and definitely take the practice test;)
