Any CM training to help get me hired?

Posted

Hi!

I am interested in becoming a case manager. I’ve been applying for jobs, but it seems like my 7 years of nursing experience and BSN isn’t enough. Are there any classes or certifications I can get without having experience to make me more desirable? I know the gold standard is CCM, but I can’t get that without experience first.

Thanks!

Hello! I would recommend joining or volunteering with a local CMSA chapter or look on the CCMC Website. Keep networking with local hospitals, colleagues, nursing school professors and other case managers. Update your resume, cover letter and LinkedIn, tailor them toward an ideal case manager position. Stay positive and an opportunity will come to you!

I know this is a late response but many homecare agencies offer case management positions.
