Hello, the school I am applying to doesn't have chemistry as a pre-req, so I never took the class. I took the TEAS last semester and there was a ton of chemistry? I'm re-taking it because there is a new version. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to study for the chemistry part? I was thinking of getting chemistry for dummies :)

I found a free online science teacher with great videos. Khanacademy.com. It's very helpful. Just like being in a class!

for TEAS V you need to learn up on punnet squares and how to balance equations for sure.

With respect to chemistry know the basic definitions: cation, anion, types of bonds, be familiar with the various definitions of acids and basis, know the periodic table of elements. There were also a few questions about gases (relationship of pressure vs. temperature). Know PV=nRT and what the variables stand for and also know SI units.
The biology questions are basic; be familiar with cellular respiration, photosyntheis, mitosis/meiosis, transcription/translation and protein synthesis. Know basic components of DNA, RNA. Know the polymers and monomers of the macromolecules. There were one or two questions dealing with Punnet Squares; know the basic genetic vocabulary as well.
I thought the A&P portion was based more on physiology than anatomy. So know the basic physiology of the various organ systems.
