Any advice would be much appreciated!!

I have been working at a local hospital for nearly 2 years as a Tech. I will graduate this year in May, and I think I would like to continue working at this hospital as an RN.

Ok, this is my situation / Question.

My mother, sister and my boyfriend want to plan a vacation during the last week of August to the ocean. I love the idea and desperately want it to work out; however, how can I do this? Upon being hired as a RN can I mention this vacation and say that I will need August 18th thru the 28th off?? Does it sound bad? Will they not want to hire me for making this type of request?

I thought that if I brought this subject up during the interveiw, that would be better than waiting until I was already hired. I would love to go on this vacation, but I am wondering how I can make this type of request prior to being hired, or, if I should just forget about it and not make the request at all.

I would greatly appreciate any advice!!

I wouldn't discuss it in the interview, but when an offer is extended. If it's a position you want, I would say, "yes, but I have a pre-arranged vacation on such and such a date.......would this be a problem?" Most managers will agree as long as they know on the front end of the hiring process.

I agree, when they start talking hiring date would be the time to bring it up.

when you are offered the job is the time to bring it up. usually, it won't be a problem.
