Anoka Ramsey or North Hennepin Fall 2016?

Published

Hello! I got accepted to both schools and currently attend AR for pre-reqs. I do like the staff/professors for these general classes and heard the nursing staff is great, too. I don't know much about North Hennepin, but it is actually closer to where I live (only 15 minutes away) which would be a huge convenience over the next 3 years, but not necessarily the deciding factor. I know NCLEX pass rates are about the same, both good. I should visit NH campus to at least see the facility in the next few days.

Do you guys have any advice on what might be the deciding factor? Have you heard one school is favored over the other? I have until April 1st to decide. Please let me know.

Thanks!!

Lauren

Hi Flynn. Did you decide on a school yet?

No I have not, but I need to decide ASAP! Any advice?

Visit both campuses. and also try going on rate my professor and check out the teachers. Nhcc is no longer having an evening weekend option for students. Another factor might help is looking at the schedules for fall and see which schedule suits your life better. some schools are only 3 days a week, whereas some are everyday.

First of all, congratulations! I wish I would have applied to Anoka Ramsey. I work with nurses that have graduated from many different schools. The ARCC graduates seem to be better prepared. This is purely anecdotal, just what I have observed. It sounds like they have also had better clinical experiences as well.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your advice. Looks like the AR schedule will work great for me, so I'm going to go there!!

I just got accepted for Fall 2016 at Anika Ramsey too! Hope to see some of you there!
