ANCC AGACNP

Published

Hello all,

I am preparing for the AGACNP ANCC exam. Just graduated and waiting for ANCC to receive transcript for grades so I can test. I used AGACNP Barkley and did all the DRT's including two provided by the school. Did the ANCC free questions (ACNP and AGACNP) and paid for the two sets of questions. I know the Barkley material from cover to back and did fairly well on the DRT's and the ANCC questions. I also bought volume 2 ANCC book for additional questions. There is not a lot of acute care practice material out there. I could buy Fitzgerald but I feel pretty prepared. However, I would rather spend the money and ensure I pass. Just wanted to see what everyone things????? Any advice would be appreciated!

Focus on the first 3 chapters in the Barkley review regarding electrolytes, ethics, and reseach. You have plenty of material sounds like.

Thanks for the info! Barkley does a good job in reviewing those sections. I feel pretty good about all those sections and know what he discusses by heart.

Came across your post, I am in the same spot as you, currently waiting for ANCC to authorize me to test. I completed the DRTs required by school (Rutgers, NJ) and we used Barkley as well. I am re-reading my Barkley book from front to back and plan on purchasing an additional DRT. Have you taken your exam yet? If so I hope that everything you mentioned was sufficient, or good luck if your still preparing!

I have received my authorization to test. I went to a Batkley review and I listen to his CD's everyday. Do you have any more pointers regarding this exam? I have heard mixed reviews. Also, did you feel Barkley covered enough ethics and research that help you pass your exam?
