ANCC AGACNP Exam

Hey everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has recently taken the ANCC AGACNP exam. If so, did you pass? What do you recommend doing in preparation for the exam?

I am taking my exam in late August. I've been listening to some Barkley CDs and have been reading over his book (given out during live review course). Any help/advice/suggestions you could give me would be much appreciated.

I just passed the ANCC AGACNP exam after failing twice! I can't believe I finally passed! And I'm nine months pregnant about to pop! I never stoped studying since I graduated May 2016. I kept reviewing the Barkley CDs, review material, made note cards, studied the Leik Adult Gero book that includes 625 practice questions and rationale, and a lot of prayer and meditation. I did it!!!! Doesn't matter how many times you fail, it's how many times you try again!

I feel like the DRGs from Barkley didn't help me. I feel like the Leik book with the questions and rationales were more similar to the actual test.

Hi @badawg01! Congratulations on passing your exam! Hard work always pays off. :) I appreciate your recommendations, and I will certainly look into obtaining the Leik test book. Also, congratulations on the baby! Hope you'll find time to rest and relax now that your exam is over.

yes I did Leik and Barkley, made flash cards, memorized labs

I also did the ANA learning center which felt to me most like the exams and board vitals

Thanks for posting this! I'm scheduled to take the ANCC AGACNP exam one week from today and am absolutely freaking out. I have done the Barkley CD's twice and reviewed his book. When I'm doing his materials I feel super confident. I did all 625 questions in the Leik book, breaking them down to 100 at a time and was scoring in the high 70's to low 80's. However- I took two of the Barkley DRT's and got a 61. I'm devastated and wondering if I should postpone my test or if this is just nerves. Why do I do so much better with the Leik book than Barkley tests??

I've just failed the ANCC AGACNP for the 2nd time :( Thanks for giving me a little hope! I feel defeated but I will keep trying. Congratulations to you!!!
