Good day, kfrazier91:

Did you ask your college adviser for their advice? That's the first place to start.

Thank you.

Why? Explain Please @nina

I made an appointment to talk with my advisor about it.

It seems like that nursing class would require admission into the program as a pre-requisite. I don't know of any schools that don't require A&P prior to admission. So, in that respect, I think that you'll definitely need to take A&P first.

OP what are the prerequisites for your program? Most schools require A&P I prior to applying and the Bio is usually a pre req for A&P and micro.

You can't take a nursing class until you are accepted to the program. Most programs require A&P I and II before entering the program. You need to speak to an advisor as we have no idea what school you are attending.

I attend Cuyahoga Community College. The only pre-reqs required for the LPN Program are English 1010 and Math 1141 or higher. My advisor said it would have been wise to take them before but I have already by passed the whole course list EXCEPT for Anatomy 1 and 2 and my nursing classes. I was just wondering like has anyone taken a nursing class and anatomy together and how was it hard, time consuming or easy?

I think that you will be much more successful in school if you have A&P done prior to starting nursing courses. That said, if your school doesn't have that requirement, then I suppose they feel it's not absolutely necessary. Perhaps their course is structured to teach some of that along the way? Either way, I probably wouldn't do it, personally. A&P was definitely one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. It's SO much information and memorization.

If that nursing course is anything similar to Med/Surg in an RN program, having completed Anatomy & Physiology will help tremendously because in order to understand how to properly care for adults and the disease processes that go along with adult health, you need to understand the body systems and how each function normally before proceeding with disease processes. I agree with another comment- A&P is difficult, so it would probably be best to concentrate on that course alone before taking any nursing course(s).

Good luck to you!
