I am taking general psych this summer.
In fall I am thinking of taking:
Anatomy & Physiology I
Microbiology
Developmental Psych
critical thinking
A basic computer class.
Is anatomy & microbiology ok to take at same time?
My school has no prerequisites but goes by a point system and psb exam.
The selection is in Jan '14, so I only have one semester to gain bonus points before waiting another full year.
Also I need an 'A' in every class for my GPA.

Hi there!
In the Spring semester I took micro, a&p1 w/ lab component, english comp 2, and an online math class. I have 2 young kids and husband and home to manage and still made it out with A's in math and english and B's in micro and a&p1. I could have done more studying and probably gotten all A's but I got lazy and distracted. I think you'll do just fine :)

Hey! It is absolutely doable! When I took micro, I was taking general chemistry lecture and lab. So it is definitely possible to take A&P and Micro. I enjoyed micro a lot actually, although it was a lot of material, it was interesting material, so it made studying a lot less tense for me. Just make sure you attend class, and study ( no cramming). Good luck!

I took A&P2, micro, and chem all in one semester along with writing comp so its doable. A cake walk compared to my first semester of nursing school!
Thanks for the replies.
I thought I may have met prerequisite for microbiology.
Is taking CLEP for general biology worthwhile? I have 6/8 weeks to study for it. If after taking it and I don't think I will pass, I can cancel submitting the results.

Just a guess but I think your general psy. instructor knows a little bit about you and your study habits, papers, grades etc. I would definitely ask for his or her opinion or if u run into an a&p and/or micro instructor ask them too. And maybe go to the bookstore at ur school and skim through the pages of A&P and micro and see if you can balance all the info given together or not. just a thought, good luck moving forward.

I'm taking Micro and A&P II together this fall too. I'm nervous taking these classes together but I'm going try and make it through.

it's possible to take both together, the immunology in microbiology will either be more in depth or complement the topic in the one in A&P 2. I took A&P 1 and Micro along with both of the labs at the same time & got all As in them. you can do it!

You can totally do this. For me, it is all in the attitude. Last semester, I took microbiology, anatomy & physiology 102, medical law and ethics, and pharmacology. The last two were online courses. I do not work, but I have a husband, 3 sons and 2 dogs that depend on me. It was not easy and there were times that I wanted to cry. But, I put on my big girl panties and made it happen. I had all A's with a B in micro. I worked my butt off and could not be any more proud of how I did. If you have a winning attitude, believe in your abilities, and know when to ask for help, you can do it all!
I received a waiver to take microbiology, but now think I should forgo it.
Instead of taking two science classes with labs to
gain an extra 4 bonus points I would rather just try better on the exam that weighs 50% of the point count, to gain those extra 4 points.
I can't sign up for another high point count this fall until I pass the summer class but it still seems
like best option.

I think you'll be fine! No matter what we do, it's almost impossible not to end up taking 2 sciences in the same semester. Last semester I took bio, nutrition and micro along with math & psych. It was a lot but I still managed all As & I have a 6 year old & a job. You can do it!!
