Finally, I'm a USRN!
I took the exam last Monday 8AM with confidence but came out like a 5-year-old crying with a bruised knee. I had 75 questions and that was my 2nd and last attempt. I did the trick when I got home and got the good pop-up. I purchased the quick results today and I officially PASSED! Whew! What a relief! I felt really scared since after I did the trick, hubby called everybody and told them that I took the test and passed. While reading the PVT thread yesterday, I got worried. What if, the result tomorrow would be different? I could probably hang myself because of embarassment. But, yehey! I passed!:anpom:
When I ended at 75, I felt really frustrated. On my 1st attempt, I had the same number of questions and failed. And trust me, the feeling of failing definitely sucks. And I don't wanna go thru it again. It was depressing and I felt useless. Useless in the sense that I can't work as a nurse and there is no job that I can think of doing aside giving nursing care. I just recently moved here in the US last Feb and took the NCLEX the next month. With a month of preparation, adjusting to the weather and planning my wedding, I knew I was set up for disaster on my exam. But I still felt confident since I passed my local boards on my first try. I didn't know that passing the NCLEX is not measured from that. The NCLEX is tough. It's unexpected and would definitely surprise you. But it is a test and like any other tests, we can pass it. Maybe not on your first try, 2nd or till the 10th but you will. You will pass. Have that confidence in you and stay positive. never let the negativity get into you or else you'll be beaten up.
I wanna thank you all of you for the encouraging words you had given, all the advises and tips and all the comfort you had provided each and everyone here. May God bless you and your nursing career!
For those who didn't make it on their first try, just hang in there. Your time will come. Never give up and keep on fighting. Allow time for yourself to grieve and be depressed. It's normal. After the process, formulate your study plan and get back to studying. You will be a nurse! You will attain your goal and that is to kick a** in the NCLEX! Good Luck! =D
