Hello all!
I am about to get offered a job as an RN at an Ambulatory Care Outpatient Clinic. I am a new grad so this is my first job. I'm happy and excited but at the same time very anxious because I don't know what to expect.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I should prepare/study for this position so I don't feel so lost on my first day?!?
Please help :)

Most nursing education programs do not provide a sufficient amount of clinical experience in ambulatory settings, so it might be a good idea to review information about ambulatory care nursing - regulatory standards & nursing standards of care. It is a very different practice setting than acute care.
Best of luck with the interview!

Yeah I'm well aware I won't get sufficient amount of clinical experience in this setting but, I've been job hunting for months and this was my only offer so I have no choice but to take it and make the best of it. I will eventually move on up from here.
But thank you very much!

I think you may have misread what she said.
She was saying that most nursing programs do not give you any experience in ambulatory nursing.
She did not say that you won't get experience from ambulatory nursing.
Oh I see. I didn't mean to be rude or anything. But I do agree with both. :) sorry for the misunderstanding
