Hello, I know the NCLEXtest is changed from time to time. I bought a 2009 Kaplan book, but really couldn't afford to buy a bunch of others that focused on content. Voila! At the library they had tons, but alas they were not the newest....
I think that the basics will not change. Maybe new drugs may come out, along with a few other tidbits, but I feel good studying with these books. Pearson Examcram, Nursing made easy, Mosby's... am I wrong to think this is okay????

No. Basics are basics as you say. I have sets from two different decades. Haven't seen anything substantial that has changed other than the test format. I would just get what you feel you need to get a little more complete. Example: if you have books that do not address the new question types, like SATA, or prioritization of care; that sort of thing; get something newer. Do some research to find the new content, look at the NCSBN site, and see what you can find that covers it. Maybe one new book.
Thanks otter! The old study guides worked just fine. I passed with 75 questions in two hours. I feel like the Geico commercial only I saved a bunch of money on books, not car insurance!!!!
With the cost of nursing texts these days, you can pay the rent or the mortgage for one month if you don't buy texts. Ridiculous to have to pay more than $200 for a book bundle or one book for a class or test.
